Where did you get this list or did you make it up yourself from tests you did?

I have new Mainstays Home Downtown Classic mugs that I just got from Walmart.
They say Dishwasher and Microwave Safe on bottom.
I would think anything that says Microwave Safe should not have much lead if any in it,since when you heat up lead glazed items the lead leaches out more.
These are plain white glaze also.

@hank -

I wouldn't have the time or the resources to run through all the dinnerware listed on this page. That would... be for some sort of organization. As you can read hank this post it's been a while since i posted the blog. Here's some links I managed to look up. baby contaminated

30% of plates have lead

My china from Target is Waechtersbach  It get too hot in the microwave and I suspected the lead content was high.  After reading this, it all gets thrown away.

That sucks. XS Cargo (Canada) is selling 'Mainstays Home' dinnerware. I just bought a set tonight actually and my initial gripe was the unfinished bottom ring that is quite abrasive... then I found your blog post that made me puke in my mouth a bit, seeing how I just ate a meal off of a freshly washed plate. Looks like I might be off the hook as these are the 'Classic Black' finish. Who am I kidding, they're probably ripe with lead leeching. ;p . Actually, I'm quite concerned because I also bought the same set for my folks. I suppose the best thing for me to do is locate and purchase a lead test kit. Meh, I should have bought Corelle.

Here is the report that's deleted off the TV station website: http://exposinglead.com/uploadfolder/leadplatesresults.pdf

Thanks for the head's up!

Ok...so what dinnerware IS safe?...I am looking for new dinnerware that is chip and scratch resistant that will be very durable and last a long time for everyday use.  I would also like it to be lead and chemical free.  I was interested in some on the list, thinking they were durable and safe, but now I'm back to square one.  If anyone has any suggestions of extremely durable everday dinnerware that is lead and chemical free, please post.  If possible, I would like to find a brand that is available in stores and not just the internet.  Thanks!     Kathy

Many thanks to the person who posted the link to the actual report on which this blog post is based. There is also another page on that site that lists articles on lead exposure:
http://exposinglead.com/index_files/news_recalls.html

No doubt, doing a web search on something like "lead exposure china" and looking for news reports will yield more info.

Good day - We just purchased Gibson "Wall Street" white dishes and then we saw our post - can you tell us if Wall Street shows high levels of lead? Also where did you obtain your information from? Any reply would be great - super information on the different brands.
